Description
Lobivia pentlandii is a small globular cactus native to Bolivia and Argentina. It has a dark green to bluish-green body with distinct ribs and prominent areoles bearing short to medium-length spines, often darker at the tips. This species is well known for its strong clustering habit, producing many offsets over time and forming dense groups. The plant is especially valued for its medium large, showy flowers, which are typically bright red to orange-red with light throat, prominent stamensand and it appear in late spring or summer.
This species prefers bright light, but older plants tolerate direct sun for few hourse per day. Needs: well-draining soil, moderate watering, and a cool, dry winter rest to encourage flowering.
