Description
Notocactus submammulosus (syn. Parodia) is a small, globular cactus from southern Brazil. It grows 5–10 cm tall and 6–12 cm wide, with pronounced tubercles instead of ribs. The short, fine spines are usually pale, but the dark red–maroon apex of the cactus creates a striking contrast with the bright yellow summer flowers and the pale gray-green tubercles, giving it a visually rich, sculptural appearance.
This cactus thrives in full sun to partial shade and well-draining soil, with moderate watering that allows the soil to dry between waterings.
