Description

Stenocactus coptonogonus is a small, globular cactus valued for its intricate ribbed structure. It is native to central regions of Mexico. It typically grows in arid and semi-arid habitats, such as rocky slopes and desert plains. It has numerous thin, wavy ribs that create a decorative, almost geometric pattern on the plant’s surface. The body is typically green to bluish-green and covered with fine spines that vary in color. This species produces delicate flowers, usually in shades of pale pink, white, or yellow, often with darker central stripes. It prefers bright light and well-draining soil, similar to most desert cacti. Regular but moderate watering during the growing season helps maintain healthy growth, while winter dormancy requires minimal moisture.
